Visit to Istana on New Year's Eve

We were out in Orchard, walking to PS from Taka when we saw that the Istana was open to the public, so we went in to have a look.

The grounds were really big.The field is actually also a golf course, I think.

It was so big that there was another gate in the grounds.

There was a cannon, a fountain etc. Basically, the Istana seems more like a small town estate.





One quite interesting thing was that even the drains were very nicely decorated. Ever saw drains lined with marble?


After walking for like 20 minutes (during which Gladys kept complaining about the walk being so long), we finally got to see the Istana building.

We didn't go in though. We were just too tired, so we turned around and headed out.

We were thinking, maybe next time we can have a picnic in the Istana grounds! Haha.
