Yupz, I'm really happy with my results. I must say that some of the grades were better than what I expected. I actually expected my HCI to get A, but I got an A+. I was hoping for an A+ for IT Marketing, or at least an A (same grade point as A+ actually), and I really did get an A+. I thought I might get a B+ for my Legal Environment, but I got an A- instead. However, I thought I might be able to get an A- for my Management Science, I only got a B+. So there's sort of a swap. Haha.
HCI was one module that I was really happy to get A+ for. Because in the previous semester, I only got a B+ for a level 4000 module under the same lecturer even though I was expecting something like A-. And... well... I don't really like the lecturer... Hehe. So it's sort of a "revenge". I was contemplating NOT taking this module because of the lecturer, but I thought it'll be interesting and so I took it (and then later regretting it because it's still too boring under him).
Honestly, I would have been glad to just maintain my CAP for 1st class honours, but of course, being able to pull the CAP up is even better. My average aggregate points for this semester alone is actually 4.7 (A+ and A are both 5, A- is 4.5, B+ is 4).
I'm facing a rather unique situation. Most people start off with good grades at the beginning of their studies, and then their CAP gradually drop over the semesters. Mine is just the opposite. 1st year, both sems got 4.5. Next sem in UBC. Following 2 sems, each got 4.6. And now, 4.7 for this sem. Does that mean that next sem I'll get 4.7 again? And then last sem get a 4.8? I'll dream on lah ah. Haha.

Shoutbox added!
I've added a shoutbox at the side of the blog so that anyone can just type any brief messages. Do note that the messages are only temporary.
HYP Fatigue
I can't believe it. While others are enjoying their holidays, I'm worrying about my HYP, doing this and that until I'm so tired. And next week, I'm starting my internship at DBS. After which, there's still the reservist. I'm starting to think whether I was wrong to take up internship, but if I don't, then I won't have the money to buy that small round thing for Gladys. And I'm not getting the responses I need. I need 200, I've gotten less than 30. ARGH... I'm going crazy.
I guess what's keeping me together still is Gladys. Thanks dear.
For those who are waiting for our photos and blog of Cameron... Be patient... Be VERY patient... Haha. With 600+ photos to rename, we're going to take a long long time. Especially with my internship and HYP. ARGH... again.
P.S. Anyone who can help me in any way for HYP PLEASE tell me. Like don't mind going out with me to the public to ask people (NUS matric card would be needed) or like Gladys, help me distribute flyers to doors/letterboxes. Or ANYTHING at all.

Singhealth Scholarship
Well, after I've pulled half my hair out, Singhealth finally called me this morning to inform me that i've been shortlisted for the Singhealth-Alice Lee Institute of Advanced Nursing Scholarship and that my interview is on Tues! So I started to pull my hair out all over again.
While I was still pulling out my hair, I got another call from Singhealth, saying that I need to bring my NYP testimonial with me on that day. (FYI: My testimonial is not done yet) More hair pulling.
Gave Clemaus (my mentor) a call to tell him about the "little" problem that I have and he told me to write my own testimonial (nicely phrased and all so that he needs to do minimal editing) and send it to him by today. More hair pulling still.
But thank God, I got everything done by 6pm in the evening and emailed him my testimonial (Thanks to Andy, who adviced me to make myself "sound like superwoman" in the testimonial). Finally feeling a little relief, but I realised that I'm now bald. Time to go wig shopping...

End of exams, but...
My exams ended this morning at 11am. The paper was a killer, but it's still the end of my exams for this semester.
However, I just can't seem to rest. For a lot of people, end of exams means that they can relax, but it's just not the case for me. I still have my HYP, and it's starting to haunt me. I badly need to collect the data. It's just not easy, and I'm spending so many days out of Singapore in Cameron Highlands. After which, I've really gotta concentrate fully on my HYP. And of course, the banks are not helping by having the deadline for implementation of 2FA so soon. Sigh...
So... If any of you are reading this, please please please help me look out for anyone who's using Internet Banking but have yet to start using 2FA (the using of the one time password generated by a token or SMS to log into the account) and ask them to contact me. I badly need to people. Please please please help me spread the word. I've never felt so desperate over a project before.
Exams are over, but there's still HYP. Sigh.

Crabs catching
My mom cooked crabs today as a birthday treat for Gladys. The crabs were really nice, which was no surprise considering how active they were when alive.
After having breakfast, I went to use my computer. And then I saw a crab crawling on the floor of my room. I couldn't believe my eyes at first. But after I was sure, I tried to catch it. It crawled very quickly into the room toilet, and to one corner of the toilet. Of course, it was then cornered and had nowhere to run. Even when I picked it up, it still struggled.
After I brought it to the kitchen, I could see why it managed to run out. My mom just put the crabs in a plastic bag on the floor, not in a bucket. I called my mom, who was out, and asked her about it. She said that she tied the plastic bag up, but of course, it wasn't enough. The crabs could struggle and still come out. Then I asked her how many she bought, and she said three. I immediately exclaimed "Jialat", as I only saw 1 other crab in the plastic bag. So we had 1 loose crab in the house.
I searched all around the house for the loose crab but couldn't find it. I even went to search my mom's room even though she closed the door to her room before leaving, just in case. Spent a long time before I finally found it: in the basin where I soaked my sandals in the toilet. As I had changed the water earlier on in the morning, I didn't think of looking there. But when I went into the toilet and looked at the basin, I saw some bubbles. It was hiding under my sandals happily blowing bubbles. It was yet another active crab as it struggled when I picked it up.
So for dinner, me, Gladys, my mom and Zhong Quan had delicious crabs.

Gladys' 21st Birthday
Today's the day Gladys turns 21! We had not one, but two celebrations for her 21st birthday. 1 was a BBQ party at ECP the day before, and then we had a family dinner at her place today.
We spent quite a lot of time preparing for the BBQ party. Luckily her dad was so nice to drive us down, or I think we would have died carrying the stuff. There was really too much things to carry. Just carrying the things from the car to the BBQ pit was tiring, and required 2 trips.
C16 is just located at a lousy place. Far from the toilets, and far from the carparks. My worst ordeal came when I carried a bucket of water and a 5kg pack of ice from 7-11 to the pit. I felt like I was back in the army doing route marches. Later in the evening at about 8pm, I still had to walk all the way out to the Bengawan Solo at Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Post to collect the cake. I haven't done so much walking for a long time.
The turnout was actually quite good and we had quite a lot of fun. Even friends who were busy turned up. Chak Yuen came early and left early, even before we started BBQ-ing. Heng Hui cycled down from his place to ECP. Xinyi came with Zi Xiu just as the pit was ready for BBQ-ing. Ruyin came alone at first, but Aloysius popped up some time after and stayed for a short while. Xiaofen and Yuan Deng came down after his work. Deyuan and Skee came down for a while before going to another friend's party at St James Powerstation. Ruby came down with her boyfriend, Desmond, whom we met for the 1st time. Zhong Quan came down right after his KTV competition.
C16 was so far from Marina Cove that Xiaofen, Yuan Deng and Zhong Quan all lost their way trying to find the pit. Coincidentally, when Xiaofen and Yuan Deng got lost and called me, I was at Marina Cove on the way back from collecting the cake, so I just fetched them and brought them down. In the end, we decided that the walking back and fro, especially when we needed the toilet, was just too much and rented two bikes for overnight.
We found the Bengawan Solo cheese cake actually quite nice. I think it'll be one of our top choices for birthday cakes from now one. And it happened that there were 12 strawberries, and 12 people, so Gladys just cut the cake into 12 portions, each portion with 1 strawberry.
We only cleaned up at past midnight, and some of our friends stayed on till past 1am. After everyone left, the two of us still cycled around some more and talked and talked. Gladys wanted to watch the sunrise at 0530, but she happily fell asleep at slightly past 4. I couldn't really sleep, so after 0530, I woke up every 10 mins and peeked my head out to see if the sun is rising. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the sunrise as it started pouring at slightly past 6. It really came as a surprise as the sky was rather clear before that, with the stars still visible. But the rain just poured down very suddenly. We were lucky that we had this new 6-men tent that still withstood the rain. Only some water seeped through, which would have been less if not for the fact that I had trouble untying the cords for closing the flysheet. As I was untying the cords, I could see the couple in the small tent similar to the one we had run out of the tent with an umbrella running towards the shelter.
The rain only stopped at 8+, but we didn't leave immediately. After returning the bikes and breakfast, we were just too tired and slept till almost noon before I woke Gladys up and decided that if we don't pack up, we might run the risk of another drizzle coming. If not, Gladys would have loved to sleep longer.
After reaching my place, it was already quite late, but Gladys was just so tired that she still caught a nap. I had to wake her up to go to her place for dinner.
For dinner, Gladys' dad cooked really good food. There was even this duck stuffed with bittergourd. I really liked it. Once again, I was asked to finish up the food when everyone was full and there was still food left. And it wasn't just one or two people who asked me. 5 or 6 of them came one after another to tell me to finish up the food.
We had another cake. This time, a mango cake. As usual, Gladys stuffed a huge piece into my mouth. Her grandma actually commented on it, saying she shouldn't have done so.
After that, when Gladys started looking at the various presents, she couldn't find a number of the presents. We looked around and couldn't find them at all. I called my mom to see if she left them on the sofa, but my mom said there was nothing on the sofa. Gladys got so worried that she started throwing her temper and even cried.
However, as I expected, I found it after reaching home. I knew that my mom wouldn't have really looked all over for the presents. Well... They were hanging off a chair in the kitchen.
